    First Day at Blogher Conference

I've been planning and attending conferences since 1995. As much as I love events and conferences, after a while they all seem to blend into each other. Attending Blogher conference for the first time this year, I certainly see some similarities but there are some differences that make this conference stand out and shine.

    1) Oh my God, it's raining women! I could count the guys in the hall with my fingers and I don't even have to use all of them. For the first time in my conference life, I had to stand in line for the bathroom.

    2) speaking of firsts, my attendee bag had pretty pink and baby blue colors on it, but nothing could prepare me for all the goodies inside. I found a flower, a sexy t-shirt, a box of high end sugar substitue, a baby bib, and a condom in it! I guess I can go out for that long awaited date with Robert now ;) They've got some great sponsors here.

    3) Speaking of great sponsors, Jory Des Jardin and I went for a test drive of a brand new convertible Saturn Sky. We went cruising down highway 101 with the wind going through our hair and the sun caressing our skin. It was awesome! A guy actually pulled up to our car at the light, smiled, and said: "That car sure looks good on you. Wait a minute. Is that a Saturn? Wow!" You can't buy publicity like that anywhere else :)

    4) Now a conference is not a conference until Marc Canter shows up and Marc sure enough was there. Even better, his lovely wife, Lisa was there too. The best part was that Marc didn't even fall asleep. Now that is always a good sign!

    5) So what was the same? There seemed to be some confusion about RSS. Good thing it's called, Real Simple Syndication.

Even better than the goodie bag and the joy ride, I met some really wonderful people. I even ran into one of my friends from college that I hadn't seen for years. Jen is a mommy blogger and it was great to see her and hang out with her at the reception by the pool.

And if all that wasn't enough, I learned about blog accessibility, how to drive traffic to my blog and how to make podcasts and video blogs all in one day. Can't wait for tomorrow. Why don't you all come get naked with me at Blogher?

It was great meeting you, Patrick, and Robert (and waiting to dine with you, and then dining with you) at Blogher.  I can't wait till we get to watch Amelie together!

P.S., Now that I have given everyone at Blogher my url, I feel this tremendous pressure to post brilliant commentary and use Spellcheck more often.   Geez...

    Cheers,
