Staying on the border town of Bad Krozingen with Robert's aunt has its advantages. We have seen cities in three different countries in the last few days. On the first day we visited Basel, in Switzerland and Robert's friend, Martin Spedding, was kind enough to show us around. Walking along the Rhine and taking the fairy across was spectacular. We also visited the Tinguely musuem where they were showing the artistic works of Niki de Saint Phalle and Jean Tinguely. Jean's work was amazing. It is the kind of works that kids and adults would love alike. He takes junk and discarded parts of machinery and wheels and puts them together and makes these pieces of art that move and make music and are just stuff out of fantasies. I loved his work. Niki's work not so much. It looked like she went through her garage and took some crap and stuck it together and threw some red, black and green paint at it. She is pretty good looking though or was at the sixties anyway. Robert's aunt said that her stuff was too sexual, but it didn't turn me on.

Speaking of Sexual, we knew we were in the French town of Colmar yesterday when at every corner we saw a lingerie shop. I kid you not. They had great names too, like Adrenaline and Lingerie fix and so on and so forth. me? I went straight for the French bakeries :) I don't remember their names, but the baked goods were wonderful.

And speaking of good names, tonight we had dinner at a German city name Baden Baden. It is a beautiful city with a famous casino and lots of expensive shops (Robert is lucky they were all closed by the time we got there). I think the same person who named Walla Walla named this city. I just love the name.

The weirdest thing so far? The shops in all three different cities are closed on Sundays. Some are closed on Monday too. And most of them take lunch breaks and are closed between 12:30 and 2:30. So basically if you need to buy something you better go out between 9-12:30 or 2:30-5, Tuesday through Saturday or you are SOL :)
